Mark Dewalt
Principal Emeritus | Architecture + Interiors
AIA
Mark’s long-held client relationships and extensive list of successful outcomes illustrate his commitment to the hard work inherent in great design. As managing principal at Valerio Dewalt Train, his leadership approach recognizes the complexities of managing innovation as well as people, making him a trusted asset to his clients and mentor in the studio. He is a past President of the Chicago Real Estate Council’s chapter of the City of Hope and recipient of their Spirit of Life Award. He has directed a series of significant projects for the Merchandise Mart, is Chicago’s leading expert for traveling rock and roll productions, and is completing a project that will tell the story of the recovery and transformation of Big Marsh with a new Field House. He champions the fact that learning happens throughout the course of professional life--whether it’s riding solo on a unicycle or guiding the collaborative success of an entire firm, he knows that there’s a reason pencils have erasers.
