Stairs. They are more than an element that connects us from one point to the next. Climbing stairs is a form of cardiovascular exercise that burns calories, strengthens the heart, lungs, core and lower body muscles; if one climbs multiple flights, it could elevate their heart rate and potentially help reduce high blood pressure. In contrast to elevators that are costly to operate and maintain, stairs mostly need the occasional sweep and mop.
