Announcing: Six Staff Promotions

Chicago, Denver, Palo Alto, and San Francisco—Valerio Dewalt Train has promoted Alexandra Polk, Andrew Paul, Jake Emery, Matt Gilbert, and Noah Bentley to the position of Associate within the Architectural studio and Rebecca Snow to the position of Director of Interior Design, announced the firm’s principals. 

Alexandra Polk, AIA, joined the firm in 2019. With Valerio Dewalt Train, she has worked on several office build-outs for Glassdoor and other tech companies in the Bay Area; her experience also includes renovations of residential and hospitality facilities. She is an active member in the firm’s internal design workshop and technology committees. Alex is currently working on a tech company’s office renovation in San Jose, CA. She received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from Carnegie Mellon University.

Andrew Paul, AIA, joined the firm in 2016. His projects include student housing at Oklahoma State University, a high-rise residential building in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago, and numerous commercial renovations for Bay Area tech industry campuses. Andrew is currently working on a multi-family high rise in Chicago, IL.  He is the firm’s bowling team captain and an active member in the firm’s internal design workshop committee. Andrew received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree from Ohio State University and his Master of Architecture degree from Syracuse University.

Jake Emery, AIA, joined the firm in 2009. His projects include the Freehand Hotel and The Mart in Chicago as well as ongoing work for a new graduate student housing project at Vanderbilt University in Nashville and amenity renovations at 225 W Wacker in Chicago. His current projects include Balyasny Asset Management offices in Miami, FL, and Austin, TX. He is active with the firm’s Revit Group and co-founded the firm’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiative. He received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree from the University of Michigan and his Master of Architecture degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Matt Gilbert, AIA, joined the firm in 2013. His projects include renovations and sitework for tech company offices in Sunnyvale, California, and the Learning Commons for the Latin School of Chicago. He is currently working with the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago on implementing a multi-phase master plan. He helps lead the firm’s ACE Mentor team, connecting Chicago high school students to the architecture, construction, and engineering fields. He received his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Michigan.

Shedd Aquarium

Noah Bentley, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, joined the firm in 2013. He has worked on a wide range of projects, including multiple tech company offices in California and Colorado and Edison at RiNo Apartments and Park 17 Apartments in Denver. Noah is an active member in the firm’s internal diagram and sustainability committees. He is currently working on 800South, a mixed-use development in Salt Lake City, UT. He received both his Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design and his Master of Architecture degrees from Montana State University.

Rebecca Snow, Assoc. IIDA, joined the firm in 2018. Her projects include offices for Glassdoor in Chicago, Uniontown, and San Francisco; Omega Yeast’s headquarters in Chicago, and the Glenstar Presidential Plaza in Chicago. Rebecca is currently working on office space renovations for both 225 W Wacker and the Shedd Aquarium. She plays an integral role in advancing the firm’s sustainability efforts in relation to materials. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design degree from the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
