Partnering with Unity Technologies on a customized Augmented Reality App
Architectural Design at a 1:1 scale on-site, in real time.
Over the last year, our team has been working with Unity Technologies on a 1:1 scale on-site augmented reality (AR) application to showcase a 36-story skyline-altering tower in Denver.
After working through various meetings with the city and client, the team recognized a need to demonstrate the project in a new medium that would better convey the experience of the design. By geolocating a model of Bell Tower through Augmented Reality, the project would be visible in real time on on-site.
In a recent discussion panel with Unity Technologies at Autodesk University, Principal Steve Droll and XR Developer, Adam Farooq, explored the process behind the development of the app. Watch the full session below to see how this technology was customized by VDT, and utilized by other firms in the industry.
